Earlier this week, Chargers beat writer Kevin Acee of the San Diego Union-Tribune said via Twitter that at least one team had called about disgruntled WR Vincent Jackson. After that report, Jason La Canfora of NFL Network suggested the Seahawks could come calling for Jackson at some point.
Seahawks Were The Team That Called The Chargers About Vincent Jackson
As it turns out, the Seahawks were the “one team” that had called the Chargers, Acee confirms.
The Seattle Seahawks called the Chargers regarding their disgruntled wideout, but the Chargers were not interested. I am told they will not trade Jackson, but I wish they would. It makes sense. If they believe he’s staying out until mid-November, which everyone close to the situation does, why not get a high pick or players and a high pick for him? I don’t think the Seahawks are the only team to have called, but I haven’t confirmed that.
It makes sense that the Seahawks are interested. They were reportedly interested in Brandon Marshall and there were even rumors for a time that Terrell Owens was an option.
SB Nation’s Bolts from the Blue has been adamant from the start that the Chargers won’t trade Jackson. A.J. Smith is a tough one, as Bolts from the Blue explains, and he’s not about to “lose” to Jackson.
