While there hasn’t been any significant movement on either side. McNeill and Chargers GM A.J. Smith met on Wednesday night to get an understanding of where they both stood, according to Kevin Acee of the San Diego Union-Tribune.

The Redskins are one of several teams said to be interested in acquiring Chargers receiver Vincent Jackson. So, the fact that Vincent Jackson is making a first-time appearance at the Arizona location where new Redskins quarterback Donovan McNabb makes a habit of conducting offseason workouts is bound to spur a little more speculation about the Redskins being the likely trading partner with San Diego for Jackson’s services.
The report comes from NFL Network’s Steve Wyche, who cautions against reading way too far into the matter. After all, players of different teams work out together all the time. That Jackson is away from Chargers pre-camp workouts is part of his effort to work a long-term deal out of the club. It just so happens he may have ended up training with a future teammates in the meantime.

Last week Kevin Acee of the San Diego Union-Tribune reported that at least one team called the Chargers regarding the availability of WR Vincent Jackson -- currently a holdout -- and Acee later identified that team as the Seahawks.
We know by now nothing has come of that report but Acee now goes onto to say that there are “several other teams” interested in Jackson.

Earlier this week, Chargers beat writer Kevin Acee of the San Diego Union-Tribune said via Twitter that at least one team had called about disgruntled WR Vincent Jackson. After that report, Jason La Canfora of NFL Network suggested the Seahawks could come calling for Jackson at some point.
As it turns out, the Seahawks were the “one team” that had called the Chargers, Acee confirms.

McNeill’s tender is worth $3.268 million while Jackson’s is worth $3.168 million. However, after June 15th the team has the option of reducing that number of $600,000 and $583,000, respectively. Kevin Acee of the San Diego Union Tribune reports the Chargers have sent a letter to each player indicating their plans to reduce their salaries on June 15th.
Chargers GM A.J. Smith confirmed that the letters were sent but declined further comment, citing comments he made last month. “I don’t know what they are thinking, and I have no idea when we’ll see them again or if we will ever see them again,” Smith said last month. “This I do know: The upcoming season will be on us very soon. Whoever we have as Chargers, we go with. I don’t spend much time speculating on who will be here or when they will be here.”
