Last week Kevin Acee of the San Diego Union-Tribune reported that at least one team called the Chargers regarding the availability of WR Vincent Jackson -- currently a holdout -- and Acee later identified that team as the Seahawks.
Redskins Are Reportedly Among Several Teams That Are Interested In Chargers WR Vincent Jackson
We know by now nothing has come of that report but Acee now goes onto to say that there are “several other teams” interested in Jackson.
The Seahawks maintain interest, as do “several other teams,” according to one source. Among those teams, sources said, are the Washington Redskins. It is not known whether the Redskins have spoken to the Chargers regarding Jackson.
The Redskins interest isn’t a huge surprise because it would give more credence to the idea that they’re in a win-now mode.
Meanwhile, Acee goes on to report that the long-term contract extension Jackson is looking for is in a slight bump to the four-year, $47.5 million extension Brandon Marshall signed with the Dolphins this offseason.
Chargers GM A.J. Smith has publicly expressed a willingness to move on without both players.
