Marcos Ambrose told USA Today in his driver diary that he didn’t agree with NASCAR’s call to restart him in seventh place after he stopped on the track under caution while leading but said he takes responsibility for the error.

↵↵Ambrose told the newspaper he had been conserving fuel all race because he wasn’t getting good fuel mileage. Still, he said he wasn’t sure why the engine didn’t start back up as it had done previously.
↵It’s interesting that even a few days later, Ambrose disagrees with NASCAR’s ruling. It’s tempting to think that if he admitted he was at fault, he might have let NASCAR off the hook.
↵But while he said he didn’t “blame” NASCAR, he still said he “didn’t agree or like the call” while at the same time adding “I play by the rules.”
↵That’s a bit confusing. Which is it?
