TMZ is reporting that the reason no contract has yet been signed between former WWE superstar Dave Batista and Strikeforce is due to an argument for an agreed upon salary. Isn’t money always the issue?
Batista And Strikeforce Working Out Salary And Schedule
Sources involved in the negotiations tell TMZ, Batista and Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker have already hammered out most of the details in their contract — but Batista’s salary is still a major sticking point.
Coker and the former WWE star are also stuck on scheduling issues — because according to sources close to the fighter, Batista’s calendar has been jam-packed with TV and movie deals since his wrestling contract expired.
We’re also told Batista’s camp is pissed off over Booker T.’s comments yesterday that Batista would get beat down by fellow WWE-star-turned-MMA-fighter Bobby Lashley … telling us Batista will fight anyone, Lashley included.
Sounds like both sides have some issues to sort out. The thing about this that concerns me the most is his schedule. If he really has movies offers piled up, why fight at all? We’ve all seen how well doing movies and fighting simultaneously worked out for Rampage Jackson, one of the top 205ers in the world, so how would it work for someone trying to break into the sport? Doesn’t sound good.
