World Cup 2010, Japan Vs. Denmark: Keisuke Honda Direct Kick Give Japan Early Lead

Keisuke Honda, who was not even a regular for Takeshi Okada’s team two years ago, has scored his second goal of the tournament to give Japan an early 1-0 lead over Denmark.

Honda’s 26-yard left footed blast hit the side netting to Thomas Sorensen’s right, giving Japan one foot in the knockout stage.

Japan needs a draw in today’s match to go into their second ever knockout stage. Denmark needs a victory to advance with the Netherlands out of Group E.
