PHILADELPHIA -- It looks like the Flyers will be removing Dan Carcillo from the lineup tonight as they try to even up the Stanley Cup Final series with the Chicago Blackhawks in Game 4.
Lineup Changes For Stanley Cup Final Game 4
Carcillo was visibly angry as he entered the locker room following the morning skate, while James van Riemsdyk, the player who was taken out of the lineup prior to Game 2 in favor of Carcillo, deflected questions about lineup status. Head coach Peter Laviolette did the same.
“Good try,” said the coach when asked if JVR would play in Game 4 . “You guys know we don’t talk about the lineup.”
Eric Duhatschek of the Globe & Mail reported on Twitter that Andreas Nodl, who played a few games earlier in the playoffs in place of Ian Laperriere, could be inserted into the lineup instead of van Riemsdyk. We shall see. Nodl was solid in a checking line situation with the Flyers against the Boston Bruins, and he would be presumably be used in similar situations if inserted to play tonight.
Meanwhile, across the rink in the Blackhawks locker room, they’re still uncertain if Andrew Ladd will be back in the Chicago lineup tonight. Coach Joel Quenneville said that Ladd is a game time decision. It’s assumed that Tomas Kopecky would be coming out of the lineup is Ladd is back in, but that’s not been confirmed.
