Rickie Fowler is ripping up the course at Muirfield Village. Through the first two rounds of the 2010 Memorial Tournament, the snappy-dressing 21-year-old has posted scores of 65 and 66 to take a three-stroke tournament lead.
Fowler has never won a PGA Tour event, but he was the top-ranked amateur golfer for 36 weeks during 2007 and 2008.
Trailing Fowler by three strokes is Switzerland’s Justin Rose. Phil Mickelson’s second-round 71 wasn’t as impressive as his 67 on Saturday, but he remains in the top ten. Tiger Woods shot a 3-under 69 in Round 2 to bring him into a tie for 25th.
Entering Round 3 on Saturday, here is what the top of the leaderboard looks like:
1. Rickie Fowler (-13 for tournament)
2. Justin Rose (-10)
T3. Tim Petrovic (-9)
T3. Jim Furyk
T5. Jason Day (-8)
T5. Spencer Levin
7. Stewart Cink (-7)
T8. Phil Mickelson (-6)
T8. Alex Cejka
