Jim Nantz Invokes Quite Possibly The First Ever Bette Midler Reference On A Golf Broadcast

⇥⇥⇥⇥⇥⇥

Jim Nantz is never one to back away from using a hokey line to highlight a key moment of a sports broadcast, but for him to pull a Bette Midler verse is beyond the reaches of what anyone could have guessed were even the limits of his cornball prowess. With Justin Rose getting his first ever win after seven years on the PGA Tour yesterday at the Memorial, Nantz marked the occasion by reciting a bit of verse from the Midler song “The Rose” after Rose sunk the winning putt.⇥⇥When the night has been too lonely
