San Jose Sharks defenseman Rob Blake has decided to retire after 21 seasons in the NHL. Blake has played for three teams and won one Stanley Cup, in 1993 with the Los Angeles Kings.

Blake was still playing a pivotal role for the Sharks this season, including serving as their captain for a period this season. He had thirty points in the regular season and had another two in the postseason.
