Steve Stricker Wins John Deere Classic, Shatters Tournament Record

Prior to this weekend, no golfer had scored better than 22-under at the John Deere Classic. On Sunday, though, both Steve Stricker and Paul Goydos officially surpassed the record.

Stricker won his second consecutive John Deere Classic, scoring an outstanding 22-under for the tournament. His final round was actually his least impressive -- he followed up his 11-under, 5-under, and 9-under with a 1-under on Sunday.

Paul Goydos, who began the John Deere Classic with a historic score of 59, finished at 24-under, ensuring a final round that was competitive to the finish.

For Stricker, who won last year’s tournament with a 20-under score, this makes ten career PGA Tour wins.

Here is how the top of the leaderboard finished:

1. Steve Stricker (-26)
2. Paul Goydos (-24)
3. Jeff Maggert (-20)
4. Shaun Micheel (-19)
5. Matt Jones (-17)
6. Vaughn Taylor (-16)
T7. Tim Clark (-15)
T7. Brendon de Jonge
T7. Charley Hoffman
