When You Think Of Integrity And Character, Think Of Michael Vick

Michael Vick, the Philadelphia Eagles’ reigning Ed Block Courage Award winner, has been having a tough couple weeks.

There’s whole shooting-at-his-birthday-party thing that has a funny way of staying in the news. In fact, it doesn’t look like it’s going to go away anytime soon. Vick recently had his traveling privileges revoked as authorities try to figure out the details and, as it usually does with Vick, the collateral damage begins.

Vick was unable to travel to his own charity golf tournament in Atlanta and an appearance at Camp Elite Sports, a youth football camp in North Carolina. Perhaps his appearances slipped his mind because for some reason, Vick waited until the very last minute to let them know he wasn’t coming. Cornelius Corprew, director of Camp Elite Sports is shocked SHOCKED! that an Ed Block Courage Award-winner would act in such a manner.

“They called early, like 2 o’clock in the morning, telling us he’s not coming... We’re not crazy. No state agency is communicating at 2 o’clock in the morning that he’s not allowed to come. I think that was a selfish act...I’m upset because our camp is built on integrity and character and that’s what we teach to our kids.”
