At Last, Chris Johnson Might Race Someone On Camera

In 2009, Chris Johnson set an NFL record for most yard gained from scrimmage. Yet for all the yards he gained, it seems like he issued just as many challenges for races to big-name sports stars, whether it be Rajon Rondo, Ted Ginn, Jr. or Usain Bolt.

↵Thing is, none of these exhilarating sprints ever came to pass. Now, finally, it appears we will finally get a long awaited chance to see Chris Johnson show off his gettin-away-from-the-cops speed in direct competition against other runners.

↵And we owe it all to Shaq’s reality show. It was announced that the second season of Shaq Vs. will debut Aug. 3. Among the various experiential exploits with fellow sports stars (as well as singing with Justin Bieber and cooking with Rachel Ray) Shaq will team up with Dwight Howard, Johnson and DeSean Jackson to race Olympic sprinter Tyson Gay in a 200m race.

↵Of course, there’s some room for wacky wrinkles in that description, but hopefully the show will line them all up and give us, if not a one-on-one showdown, a chance to see Johnson finally take on a world-class sprinter.
