There’s No Cheering In The Press Box Either

Count the altar as another place where cheering for your favorite team is frowned upon. At least that is the case in a village north of Amsterdam where a Dutch priest was suspended for showing a little too much team spirit.

↵During the World Cup final between Spain and Netherlands, priest Paul Vlaar wore an orange robe and decked out his church in orange.

↵The orange mass was popular among the parishioners and a video was posted to YouTube, but that did not sway the Bishop of Haarlem from giving Vlaar the boot.
