Yes, folks, it is time for the debut of the COT Nationwide car. Daytona is the perfect place to show off Nascar’s fancy new duds. The Mustang and the Challenger will make a manufacturer debut as well.

We are getting a preview to how Nationwide Racing will be next year, but not how well people will drive in the new car. Daytona isn’t exactly known for having the best driver win the race that day.
Dale Jr (who will make his only appearence in the #3 Chevy, if you believe him) has said that Daytona and Talladega is like playing the lottery.
We only had a few casualties this week. Specialty Racing (#61 Ford), DHM (the 90, 91 Chevys) and K-Motorsports (the #26 is the only one entered into this event, #92 and #96 are not) are all normally start and park teams and for that reason have decided not to build Nationwide COTs for the Daytona Race. Not surprising. That costs money.
So, let’s go COT racing boys.

I was a bit shocked to yet again see that Scott Lagasse is not in the #43 car. One would start to think he is no longer with the team. Chrissy Wallace will drive the #43 car. Good chance that she may Start and Park, but lets hope not. The 43 team is losing ground on the top 30 in points, and could be in trouble soon.
Speaking of Baker Curb, they have two women driving for them this week, as Jennifer Jo Cobb will pilot the #27 Ford. She’s got a sponsor, so they will be going bal......um.......all out?
Parker Kligerman returns, this week taking the# 26 ride that Brian Keselowski normally drives. It’s good news for Kligerman, as he will not be asked to Start and Park. I’d go out on a limp and say that none of these cars are going into this racing with the intention to start and park. But I see alot of TBA sponsors out there.
Dale Earnhardt Jr will start this race, since he is a past champion. It will be the only race this year that Wrangler and the #3 will run. Speaking of Jr, Notice Greg Sacks in the# 88 car? So much for trying out young talent. Sacks is.....like 68? About the same age as Morgan Shepherd.
Carl Long will debut the new #68 Chevy. Fleur-de-Lis Motorsports plans to run the COT races and be Full Time next year. Good luck.
There are 44 cars entered. So one is going home.
And finally, I sure hope you noticed who’s in the #09 this week. It’s the return of Ken Schrader. I would be surprised to see him start and park. So a big half thumbs up to RAB for bringing the ageless one back to us.
