With the dismissal of manager A.J. Hinch and general manager Josh Byrnes, the Diamondbacks needed to act fast to fill those two very important positions. They did just that, installing bench coach Kirk Gibson as the interim manager and Jerry Dipoto as interim GM.
Kirk Gibson Takes Over As Diamonbacks Interim Manager
Gibson has been Arizona’s bench coach since 2007 and was previously Detroit’s bench coach from ’03 to ’05. Of course Dodger fans remember him for something else altogether.
Dipoto has been with the D-backs since 2006.
