Jorge Rivera Injured, Withdraws From UFC 118 Bout With Alessio Sakara

From MMA Junkie:

A broken arm has forced Jorge Rivera out of his UFC 118 bout with fellow middleweight Alessio Sakara.

Rivera first announced the news via his Facebook page, though UFC officials have not removed the bout from the official fight card. MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) confirmed the change with a source close to the event, who said he was aware of the injury.

With ample time, UFC officials likely will search for a replacement, though without Rivera (a cast member on “The Ultimate Fighter 4”), the bout potentially could lose its spot on Spike TV’s “UFC Prelims” broadcast.

It’s unfortunate to see such a good fight get eliminated from the card. Hopefully Jorge makes a speedy recovery.
