Cavs Send West, Telfair To Wolves In Exchange For Sessions, Hollins

It's never a dull moment in Minnesota when it comes to their point guards. On the same day news broke that point guard Jonny Flynn will be out for 3-4 months with a hip injury, the Timberwolves traded one of their back-up point guards...for another one. Amongst other things.

The Cleveland Cavaliers have acquired guard Ramon Sessions, center Ryan Hollins and Minnesota's second round pick in the 2013 NBA Draft from the Minnesota Timberwolves in exchange for guards Delonte West and Sebastian Telfair, Cavaliers General Manager Chris Grant announced today.

In Sessions and Hollins, the Cavs get their likely-new starting point guard and a 7-footer coming off his best statistical season. In Telfair and West, the Timberwolves get two contracts they will almost assuredly dump before the season starts, though with the Flynn injury there’s a chance Telfair just became valuable.

Minnesota GM Dave Kahn adds one more curious move to his already impressive list of curious moves. The GM who stockpiled point guards like they were collectibles will now head into the season with only Luke Ridnour to count on while Flynn recovers, Sessions is in Cleveland and Ricky Rubio does whatever it is Ricky Rubio does.
