Giants Waive Chad Jones After Injury Suffered In Car Accident

The last news on Chad Jones was that he was being released from the hospital.

Now comes word from the Star-Ledger that the Giants have waived Chad Jones.

The move was done with the intention of placing Jones on the reserve/non-football injury list if he clears waivers.

Jones will be officially done for the season once he lands on the reserve/NFI list. Also, the Giants will be under no obligation to pay him anything, though they will probably take care of him in some form or fashion.

Jones will keep his $825,000 signing bonus. The Giants are not obligated to pay him his base salary but, as this report states, the Giants will “probably take care of him in some form or fashion.”
