Bronx, NY (Sports Network) - Marcus Thames’ RBI single in the bottom of the 10th inning lifted New York past Toronto, 7-6, in the finale of a three-game set from Yankee Stadium.

Mark Teixeira finished with three hits and drove in two runs for the Yankees, who took two of three in the series and have won three of four overall.

Brett Gardner collected a pair of hits, including a two-run homer, while Alex Rodriguez and Ramiro Pena each knocked in a run for New York, which became the first team in the majors to reach the 50-win mark.

David Robertson (1-3) picked up the win despite allowing two walks and a hit in the top of the 10th.

Dewayne Wise slugged a three-run shot and added four RBI for the Blue Jays, who skidded to their seventh loss in eight contests. Adam Lind and Lyle Overbay also homered in the setback.

David Purcey (0-1) suffered the loss after giving up the game-ending run.
