George Hincapie Keeps It Real At The 2010 Tour de France

It’s cobblestone day at the Tour de France, the stage organizers love to throw in just to watch highly disciplined professional cyclists turn into elbowing roller derby girls. Cobblestone rides often turn into a rude, attack-heavy survival course, with the best strategy involving a blend of guile and...how do you say it...well, let rider George Hincapie handle this one.

Preparing for battle. Today you have to be an a-hole, to stay in front. So I will go ahead and apologize in advance.

↵Thus far the only problems the riders have had today have been with the perfectly straight roads. David Le Lay had to abandon the race today after a multi-rider crash before the peloton even reached the cobblestones. If yesterday’s petulant protest finish is any indication, the riders will complain about the straightness of the roads and evenness of pavement.
