↵...the show is trending just slightly under the Quinton Jackson vs. Rashad Evans show, which did about 1 million buys. Dana White on Saturday night said his early trending info had him ecstatic and was pointing to the biggest Anderson Silva fight of all time. Keep in mind the previous biggest Anderson fight was versus Forrest Griffin, which did about 900,000. The feeling from the UFC side Monday was that it’s likely going to finish at around a million buys or maybe just underneath that.

↵If this does turn out to be the case (and I have several people telling me that it is accurate) it would be a tremendous win for the UFC and Chael Sonnen. Sonnen was a one man ticket selling machine with the non-stop trash talk and outlandish behavior in the weeks leading up to the fight. He turned a “Anderson will kill him” chorus by MMA fans into a “what will happen?” and eventually a “Chael might actually win this fight” through nothing more than talk.
↵And then, to make things even better, Chael delivered a great effort before being submitted in dramatic fashion. If that wasn’t enough, the entire show delivered excitement and drama that will likely get those same fans to order future events.
↵When added to the big numbers pulled in by Brock Lesnar at UFC 116 and the expectations for a big show at UFC 118 due to the interest in the boxing vs. MMA event with Randy Couture against James Toney.
