United States-Brazil: Pato’s Stoppage Time Goal Gives Brazil 2-0, First Half Lead

Another attacker who was left off the Brazil World Cup team has scored at the New Meadowlands, with quick passes from Paulo Henrique Ganso to Ramires to Alexandre Pato seeing the AC Milan starlet go around Tim Howard for an open net goal.

Pato was put behind a high U.S. line and was able to dribble-in on Howard from 25-yards out. When the ’keeper came out to meet him, Pato had time and room to easily move to his right, leave Howard behind, and shoot into an unprotected goal.

Moments later the halftime whistle blew, sending Brazil, who dominated the last 20-25 minutes of the half, into intermission up 2-0.
