2010 PGA Championship, Second Round: Matt Kuchar Alone Atop Leaderboard

As darkness is close to setting in at Whistling Straits, it is becoming clear which part of the draw was the right one. The players that went out late on Thursday and (relatively) early today are the lucky ones.

Bubba Watson spent 30 hours waiting between the end of his first round yesterday and the start of his second round this evening. Now chasing Matt Kuchar, Watson has continued to try overpowering Whistling Straits.

The sixth is Johnson’s last opportunity in his round to score easily. The closing three holes of his round – seven through nine on the course – are among the more difficult holes on the course.

Jason Dufner and Bryce Molder are -6 on their rounds today, now at -5 and -6 overall respectively. Both are through 15 holes in their rounds.

Matt Kuchar is still playing well and leads by two on -8.

One of the problems with being a spectator in golf is that you can struck with the ball. When the right player does it, it’s also a perk.

Phil Mickelson hit an errant drive on the 15th hole at Whistling Straits in his second round at the PGA Championship. As a form of apology to the fan, he took off his glove, signed it with a message of sorry - and a frown face inside the “o.”

US Open 54 hole leader Dustin Johnson is at -4, along with Ernie Els. Bubba Watson and Francesco Molinari will not start their second rounds until 6 and 7 p.m. ET respectively.

Just one player among the pack at -4 is on the course – Gonzalo Fernandez-Castano is -2 early in his round to get to that group.

There are twenty-four players that are yet to complete their first round.

Some players will still be completing their opening rounds while the second round begins for the players that completed their rounds yesterday.

Course staff will switch out pins as all first round groups complete play on a particular hole.

First it was fog this morning, pushing play back to a start time of 10:40am ET. Now it looks like rain, thunder, and lightning will take the weather delay stage.

Meteorologist John Daly tweeted the radar map for Sheboygan, Wisconsin - and it doesn’t look good.
