Eli Manning Leaves Game With Gash On Forehead, Requires Eleven Stitches

The Giants' Eli Manning left Monday's exhibition game against the Jets after splitting his forehead open in a scary injury.

On a third and two from the Jets five yard line, Eli Manning looked to fake a handoff then hit Ramses Barden in single coverage in the end zone. The problem is that Brandon Jacobs didn't look like he knew that he was going to fake the handoff.

Jacobs ran into Manning on the exchange and caused the ball to pop in the air. Manning was then hit hard by Jets LB Calvin Pace with his helmet flying off. On the way to the ground, Manning fell into a Jets player (with no helmet on) and received a cut on his head.

The gash was three inches wide and Manning received eleven stitches to close the wound and stop the bleeding.

He was tested for a concussion but doctors concluded he did not suffer one.

More updates ahead from SB Nation New York and Big Blue View.
