MLB Draft Deadline: Jameson Taillon Receives Largest Signing Bonus

As part of a $9.9 million overall contract, Bryce Harper will receive a $6.25 million signing bonus. Why is this relevant? Because, in a way, that means the guy taken behind him did a little better:

#Pirates 1st-rd Jameson Taillon got a $6.5 million bonus. #mlbdraft <JC>

Taillion didn’t get a contract as large as Harper’s overall, but he will still forever be able to say that he got the biggest signing bonus in the 2010 MLB draft.
