Carl Edwards: Keep Me Out Of Other People’s Clashes

Drivers are often asked to give their opinion about the hot topic of the day, which can sometimes involve a rivalry or incident between other competitors.

↵Carl Edwards has made it a point to rarely discuss these situations, preferring to stay out of other people’s messes.

↵Asked about the Joey Logano-Ryan Newman incident, Edwards explained why he wouldn’t talk about it.

↵“Here’s the thing: I don’t comment on all these other situations – you guys always ask me – because it’s not my place,” he said. “I’m not involved. I don’t know what’s going on between those two.

↵“If I was in one of their places and I was involved, I would know what was going on and I’d have something to say about it. But I think that’s pretty weak of guys to comment on other situations and just pick sides because of who they’re friends with or who they’ve had past incidents with.”

↵Edwards has been burned by others (such as Kevin Harvick) who have spoken badly about him in the past when Edwards was involved in high-profile incidents himself.

↵So that could explain why he doesn’t choose to comment on others.

↵“That’s what I see going on,” Edwards said. “It’s like a little game. It’s kind of funny, actually, to watch.”
