BREAKING: The Jets And Patriots Hate Each Other
First, Tom Brady takes to the radio airwaves to voice his displeasure with this season of HBO’s Hard Knocks, which follows the preseason travails of the New York Jets.
“Honestly, I haven’t turned [Hard Knocks] on. I hate the Jets, so I refuse to support that show.”
We expect the Patriots and Jets to hate each other with every fiber of their being. But to actually say it out loud? Tres gauche, good sir.
As you can imagine, if anyone was going to take the high road, it was going to be Rex Ryan. Except...no.
”“He already knows that we hate the Patriots… so what’s the difference?” Ryan said after today’s practice. “My brother’s got a couple Super Bowl rings. He loves Tom Brady. But I don’t have them, so I don’t like Tom Brady. I respect him, but I don’t like him.
No matter what the outcome of this verbal tête-à-tête, the real winner are the bloggers, sports radio talkshow hosts and ESPN talking heads who will now spend way more time than could possibly be necessary taking these comments and analyzing them as if they needed to be analyzed in any way.
Let’s just thank God Joey Porter doesn’t play for either of these teams.
