The Internet Is A Jay Mariotti-Free Zone: AOL Suspends Columnist Following His Arrest

AOL has decided to suspend Jay Mariotti from FanHouse indefinitely following his arrest in L.A. over the weekend for an “altercation” with his girlfriend. They gave Richard Deitsch this brief comment:

↵“We are continuing to gather all the facts. In the meantime, we have suspended Jay Mariotti and are not featuring any new work from him.”↵While it will remain unclear why AOL hired Mariotti in the first place, it’s certainly a win for the Internet any time he isn’t producing new work. As for his ESPN gig, Mariotti may or may not still be on Around the Horn when it returns from vacation next week, which is interesting because holy s--- Around the Horn is still on television.

↵And if you’re wondering why everyone is relishing watching Mariotti go down in flames, EDSBS has the scientific explanation.
