Brad Hawpe To Sign With Rays

Free agent outfielder/DH Brad Hawpe has made his decision, and his decision is to sign with Tampa Bay over Boston and any other suitors he may have had.

With the Rays, Hawpe could end up displacing Dan Johnson, a lefty bat who was promoted to serve as a bench bat against right-handed pitchers. By signing before the end of August, Hawpe will be postseason-eligible.
