German champions Bayern Munich will seek compensation from the Dutch Football Association after the diagnosis on winger Arjen Robben's hamstring will leave Bayern's best player sidelined for two months. The German club contends a misdiagnosis on the part of the Dutch national team has led the leg injury, suffered in the final friendly before the World Cup, to not heal properly.

Hans-Wilhelm Müller-Wohlfahrt, the team’s doctor, described the injury as “a clear tear,” adding:
“This is a severe injury,” club doctor Hans-Wilhelm Müller-Wohlfahrt said. “I find it irresponsible that this injury has not been precisely diagnosed and that they have let Arjen play. For my part, I offered to help with the diagnosis but this was not taken into account.”
Club chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge said Bayern plan to seek compensation from the Dutch FA:
“Of course, Bayern Munich are very angry,” said chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge.
“Once again we must pay the bill as a club after a player is seriously injured playing for a national team.”
While the 26-year-old Robben has acquired a reputation for being injury-prone, his relative health during the 2009-10 season helped Bayern Munich recapture the Bundesliga title and make it to the UEFA Champions League final, where they lost to Italy's Internazionale. In 37 all-competition appearances for Bayern, Robben scored 23 goals list season, 16 in league. For the Netherlands in South Africa, Robben scored twice, appearing in five of seven matches.
Robben missed the beginning of the World Cup recovering from this leg injury, suffered in the Netherlands’ final friendly pre-tournament against Hungary. Late in that match, Robben’s attempted back-heel pass saw a awkward twinge of his leg. The winger left the friendly, which the Dutch would go on to win 6-1, not to return until the team’s third group stage match in South Africa.
