2010 Bridgestone Invitational, Round 3 Leaderboard Update: Ernie Els Takes Share Of Lead, Katsumasa Miyamoto Posts 62

Ernie Els entered Round 3 of the Bridgestone Invitational with a relatively modest 1-under score for the tournament, but on Saturday, he delivered a performance that will give him a chance to win his third PGA Tour event of the year.

Els shot 5-under through the back nine to go 6-under for the day. Heading into the clubhouse, Els shared the lead at 7-under. This results in an already-crowded top of the leaderboard: as of this writing, seven golfers are tied for first place, and 13 others are within three strokes of the lead.

Also vaulting up the leaderboard is Katsumasa Miyamoto, whose Round 3 score of 62 is the best of the tournament so far. Miyamoto eagled the 17th hole and recorded seven birdies to move 49 spots up the leaderboard, and he now stands only two shots off the lead. The 37-year-old has never won a PGA Tour event.

Phil Mickelson, meanwhile, is 1-under through seven holes to take a share of the lead.
