Ohio State Vs. Miami: Terrelle Pryor Wins Quarterbacking Duel; Buckeyes Prevail

Last week in my review of the nascent Heisman race, I wrote of the Miami-Ohio State matchup:

The Ohio State game next weekend will be a crucial opportunity for either Harris or Pryor to look extremely foolish on national television and take himself out of the running. We are hoping for Pryor, since if Harris gets invited to New York there’s a better-than-even chance Michael Irvin shows up to hijack the event. That’s not exactly how things worked out. Neither star accounted for the bulk of his team’s scoring output. That doesn’t mean there wasn’t a clear winner in the quarterbacking duel, however.

Everyone’s favorite afro butterfly sartorialist was all over the place in the ‘Shoe, throwing an interception on Miami’s very first possession, and three more before the game was through. Harris finished 22-of 39 for 232 yards, one touchdown pass, and a 94.3 rating.
Pryor, however -- hoo, boy. Not particularly accurate was he (12/28), but what he did hit, he made count (233 yards). The gentleman in red has a definite leg up on the meaningless trophy race, while Harris’ dark horse campaign for hardware takes a scrambling drop back.
Final score: Buckeyes 36, ‘Canes 24.
