But Robinson’s efforts to stuff Michigan’s box score today were almost as awesome.

• 502 total yards against Notre Dame, a single-game school record.
• Ninth QB in NCAA history to rush (258) and pass (244) for 200+ yards in a game, and the first since West Virginia’s Pat White in 2006.
• Set a Big Ten record for rushing yards in game by QB.
• Longest rush TD in Notre Dame Stadium history (87 yards).
• His 258 rushing yards are a single-game school record for a QB, and the fifth-highest single-game total in Michigan history.
Here’s a bit more:
- Robinson has 885 yards of total offense. That's more than any single FBS team had last week.
- Michigan has 1,005 yards of total offense. Robinson has contributed 88.1% of Michigan's total offense so far. For perspective, Tim Tebow had 70.4% of Florida's total offense in his Heisman Trophy-winning campaign of 2007.
- Robinson's gained 7.98 yards per carry and thrown for 6.93 yards per attempt.
- Robinson has 13 rushes of 10 or more yards through two games.
Put all that together and you have the most impressive portfolio for a player in college football this season; combine that with the electricity the dynamic Robinson has brought to one of the sport’s most storied brands, and you have a surefire Heisman candidate.
All Robinson has to do is stay healthy, and continue producing against defenses a tad stouter than the sides Purdue and Notre Dame presented. Robinson’s done the former despite toting the ball 57 times in two weeks. The latter can only come as the season progresses.
