Hastening his drops and working the sidelines, Manning drove the Colts down the field in 3:49, connecting with Dallas Clark to cut the Texans’ lead to 27-17.
Manning’s pass to Clark was his 38th completion of the day, a new career high.
The Colts’ drive was almost scuttled by a Manning interception, though. After being hit, Manning lofted a pass into Texans defensive back Glover Quin’s hands, but Pierre Garcon knocked the ball out of his hands just as he landed. The pass was ruled incomplete on the field, and the Colts quickly ran a play to avert a replay challenge.
