Fantasy football players have been wondering whether Arian Foster would have a “breakout” year since he had over 200 yards in the Texans’ last two games in the 2009 season. Today, he basically erased all those worries.
Yes, Arian Foster Will Probably Have That Breakout Season You Want Him To Have
↵Foster ran roughshod over the Colts, gaining 231 yards on 33 carries. That’s a single-game franchise record, naturally, shattering the previous record of 158 yards set by Domanick Davis in 2004. Foster’s performance came despite Matt Schaub being ineffective and in response to Peyton Manning hitting career passing highs.
↵Most importantly for the Texans, it’s a signal that Foster might well be the workhorse back that finally balances a pass-happy offense. The Texans’ single-season record for rushing is Steve Slaton’s 1,282-yard year in 2008. With 15 games left on the schedule, Foster’s more than a sixth of the way to breaking it. That would more than qualify as breaking out.
