Matthew Stafford’s Shoulder Is Reportedly Separated, Status Unclear

ESPN’s Adam Schefter has the latest update to the injury suffered by Lions QB Matthew Stafford.

QB Matthew Stafford has second-degree separated shoulder; planning to visit Dr. James Andrews as early as this week. Out this week at least.

The Lions organization hasn’t confirmed anything and there are some that think it could be a shoulder contusion and not a separation.

Right now, though, it seems most believe that it’s a grade two shoulder separation which would cost him 2-6 weeks.

The Lions haven’t confirmed anything other than that Stafford won’t need surgery. Head coach Jim Schwartz has said Stafford has had some “good returns on his tests” but hasn’t elaborated.
