Did you know UEFA Champions League restarts today? CONCACAF’s, too, and we’ll have a preview soon, but for now, it’s time to look at the rest of the world’s action - a reminder that the soccer universe does not revolve around UEFA Champions League.
Matches For A Champions League Tuesday
Yet.
England: A huge match in the championship sees second division-leader Queen’s Park Rangers going to Roy Keane’s Ipswich Town, currently sitting two points back in third place. Ipswich got a tough, 0-0 on the south coast this weekend while QPR continued to show run-away-from-the-league form in a 3-0 win over Middlesbrough. They’ll get a greater challenge at Ipswich, one of the three remaining undefeated teams, though this will be as much a chance for the upstart Blues to show their viability.
Also, the Administration Cup: Crystal Palace hosting Portsmouth.
Egypt: ENPPI has a chance to pull even with El Entag El Harby at the top of the Premier League with a win over visiting, last-place Al Mokawloon. El Entag sits on ten points through five match, one ahead of Ismaily, who are perfect through three but are splitting time between domestic responsibilities and African Champions League.
Qatar: Qatari powers Al Sadd are scoreless through 30 minutes with visiting Al Rayyan, each club’s opening match to the 2010-11 season.
There is also FA Cup first round qualifying in England as well as cup competition in loci such as Bosnia and Herzegovina, Moracco, Liechtenstein and Slovenia. But the mid-week focus will be on Champions League. The UEFA versions starts at 2:45 p.m. Eastern while the CONCACAF counterpart kicks-off at 8:00 p.m.
