Toronto FC has fired coach Perki and director of soccer Mo Johnston, according to reports. The team has called a 12:30 p.m. press conference to confirm the news.
Preki, Mo Johnston Fired By Toronto FC
Assistant Nick Dasovic will be named interim coach.
Preki was in his first season at BMO after coming-over from Chivas USA in the offseason. A recent slump has seen TFC fall five points back of the final playoff spot with the Reds coming off a disappointing, one point week after matches against Chicago and D.C. United.
On Saturday, Toronto reached a low point by losing at home to league-worst D.C. United, only the second home loss of the season for the Reds.
Toronto plays Real Salt Lake tomorrow in Utah in CONCACAF Champions League.
Mo Johnston had served with Toronto since the team’s 2007 debut, serving as the team’s first coach in 2007 before becoming director of soccer operations in 2008.
Toronto failed to make the playoff in the club’s first three MLS seasons.
