Jets NT Kris Jenkins Reportedly Tears ACL, Out For The Year

In October of 2009 the New York Jets lost nose tackle Kris Jenkins for the year with a torn ACL.

On Monday night against the Baltimore Ravens, Jenkins went down clutching that same knee.

Jason La Canfora of NFL Network reports the Jets biggest fear has come true: Jenkins again tore his ACL and is out for the year.

In the first quarter against the Ravens, Jenkins was knocked backwards by his teammate, Bart Scott, and fell onto his own leg. Trainers came out and tended to him but ultimately he was able to walk off under his own power.

This is a significant blow for the Jets, as SB Nation’s Gang Green Nation notes.

This is terrible news for the fans, but also for Kris who worked really hard to get back in shape.

Check out Gang Green Nation to see how Jets fans are taking the news.
