Dominant play from Bayern Munich finally paid off in the 78th minute when Thomas Muller broke a scoreless tie, giving the German champions a 1-0 lead on visiting Roma. Then, five minutes later, substitute Miroslav Klose slammed home an insurance goal, giving Bayern a 2-0 late at the Allianz arena.

Muller’s goal came off a corner kick, with central defender Daniel van Buyten heading a ball down for the attacker, whose right-footed shot beat Julio Sergio for the opening goal.
Five minutes later Klose, who was brought on for Hamit Altintop in the 67th minute, converted a Holger Badstuber cross to given München breathing room, up 2-0 with seven minutes left.
Thomas Müller was removed from the match just before Klose’s goal, being replaced by Danijel Pranjic.
