Patriots Vs. Jets: Jets Offense Revs Up, Defense Locks Down In Second Half Of Win

When Randy Moss dusted Darrelle Revis for a touchdown that put the Patriots up 14-7, it looked like the Jets were headed to 0-2.

Revis was hurt. The Jets offense was struggling. The Patriots were clicking.

That all changed.

The Jets scored 21 unanswered points and forced three second-half turnovers, shutting down the Patriots and getting just enough out of their offense to win 28-14 and escape an 0-2 hole.

Embattled quarterback Mark Sanchez was excellent, completing 21 of 30 passes for 220 yards and three touchdowns. His running backs, both new (and old) in LaDainian Tomlinson and old (and young) in Shonn Greene, helped the Jets control the clock, combining for 128 yards.

These Jets took a couple punches from a strong Patriots team. And even with their defensive star out, they didn’t crumple.
