Case Keenum could have been a Heisman candidate, and could have shattered several NCAA records. Instead, he'll spend his final season as a college football player recovering from an ACL injury.
Houston’s Case Keenum Out For Season With ACL Tear
ESPN’s Joe Schad tweets that Houston has announced Keenum is out for the year after tearing his ACL against UCLA. It’s a terrible break for both Keenum, who had left Houston’s game last week against UTEP with a concussion, and for the Cougars, who lost both Keenum and his backup, Cotton Turner for the season in one night. (Turner suffered a fractured clavicle.)
Keenum, largely considered a product of Houston’s spread offense, would have had a hard time making a run at the NFL even if his numbers had merited Heisman consideration this year. It’s very possible that most of America has seen the last of Case Keenum on a football field.
