Joe Mauer Returns To Twins Lineup After 10-Day Absence

Joe Mauer’s knee injury was never considered a big deal, but now Twins fans can breathe easy anyway, as the star catcher returns to the team’s lineup Thursday night.

Mauer will DH in order to easy his body back into action. He’ll be good to go behind the plate come playoff time.

Good news is here for Twins fans who may have been troubled by Joe Mauer’s recent knee exam:

The “nothing more serious” part is the key, as the MRI ruled out any serious tissue or ligament damage. It’s only a matter of time before Mauer returns to the lineup, and he’ll be good to go come playoff time.

I won’t say it’s time for Twins fans to panic, since this could very easily just be precautionary, but this isn’t the kind of thing you like to hear about one of your star players as the playoffs loom ahead:

At this point, we still have to think that Mauer will be fine. But we’ll know a lot more once MRI results are made public.
