I won’t say it’s time for Twins fans to panic, since this could very easily just be precautionary, but this isn’t the kind of thing you like to hear about one of your star players as the playoffs loom ahead:

At this point, we still have to think that Mauer will be fine. But we’ll know a lot more once MRI results are made public.
