South Carolina’s Steve Spurrier: ‘Kenny Was One Of My All-Time Favorite Players’

There’s no good way to hear the news about someone’s passing, though hearing confirmation from reporters with a bunch of microphones and cameras shoved in your face can’t be high on the list. That’s how South Carolina football coach Steve Spurrier was told the reports of former Gamecock and Denver Broncos receiver Kenny McKinley’s death were true.

Spurrier’s reaction below:

For those that don’t follow South Carolina, McKinley left quite a legacy at the school. He holds the school records for single-season receptions (77), career receptions (207), career receiving yards (2,781) and consecutive games with a reception (43).
