The Carolina Panthers entered the season with hopes that Matt Moore would continue to develop putting off the Jimmy Clausen era for at least another year.
Jimmy Clausen Will Start Week 3, Panthers Confirm
Apparently, that won’t happen.
Panthers coach John Fox confirmed to reporters Monday morning that Clausen would start for the Panthers in week 3.
“We have to do something to spark our passing game,” Fox said. “Jimmy is a guy we think highly of. We’ll give him an opportunity. We thought he made the most of his opportunities on Sunday.”
Clausen replaced Moore in the fourth quarter on Sunday against the Bucs but didn’t fare much better than Moore. Clausen completed 7-of-13 passes for 59 yards while Moore completed 6-of-16 passes for 125 yards and a touchdown. Both players had interceptions.
