Brandon Jacobs Meets With Giants Management; Fined $10,000 For Helmet Toss

It was reported following Sunday’s loss to the Colts that Giants RB Brandon Jacobs planned to demand a trade at a Tuesday meeting with Giants management. The Giants were coming off of a big loss and Jacobs was getting a lot of attention because he somehow threw his helmet into the stands.

To this point Jacobs hasn’t requested a trade, but he has been fined $10,000 by the NFL for throwing his helmet into the stands.

“I want to apologize one more time for accidentally tossing my helmet in the stands. It was something that happened because I was frustrated with the game, and I had no business tossing my helmet in the first place, and I am thankful that nobody was hurt. I talked to Jerry and coach Coughlin yesterday. Both of them asked to speak with me, I didn’t request a meeting with them. I have not demanded a trade and have no plans to demand a trade. The only demand I am making right now is of myself, to be the best player I can be and to help this team win.”

So it looks like Jacobs won’t be demanding a trade anytime soon. That’s probably a good thing because he’s unlikely to get anymore money than what he’s getting in New York and the trade value on a running back like him is very low.
