Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas is expected to miss three weeks with a knee injury picked up Saturday at Sunderland, according to today's reports. Though his being subbed-off Saturday was originally thought precautionary, scans conducted on Monday showed the Spanish midfielder's hamstring injury more sever than originally expected. The Gunners' best player will miss the club's next Champions League match (at Partizan) and, more significantly, Arsenal's visit to Chelsea on October 3.

Fabregas will also miss this week's matches: today, in the Carling Cup, at Tottenham Hotspur, and Saturday, hosting West Bromwich Albion.
Fabregas scored Arsenal's only goal this weekend before being replaced by Tomas Rosicky. Now Rosicky, who has appeared in each of Arsenal's league matches this season, looks set to step-in for the Gunners' next two Premier League matches.
