Yadier Molina originally injured his right knee in a game against the Nationals on August 26th, and sat out the next two contests. He came back on the 29th, however, and has played off-and-on ever since, but recently it seems the pain has escalated, and now he's being sent home for examination:
Injured Yadier Molina To Have MRI On Right Knee
Yadier Molina is traveling back to St. Louis to receive an MRI exam on his troublesome right knee.
Molina doesn’t think it’s a big deal, but the fact that the pain has lingered this long is a bit worrisome, so the team will be careful.
Over 521 trips to the plate on the season, Molina has batted .262/.329/.342 while throwing out nearly half of attempted base-stealers. Matt Pagnozzi and Bryan Anderson should benefit from any extended absence the rest of the way.
